OBJECTIVE/GOAL
Design an efficient, intuitive, and accessible platform to address these issues and improve the overall patient experience. The platform equips optometrists with tools to enhance patient engagement, streamline appointment scheduling, and provide access to prescriptions and appointment-related documents.
Creative Discovery is a six week phase designed to understand the client's needs and introduce our design process. Lacking direct user research, we use competitor analysis and heuristic evaluation based on industry best practices to guarantee an intuitive, patient-friendly design.
The primary objective was to build a cohesive UI Kit that strictly adhered to the client's existing brand colors and guidelines, utilizing their core teal as the foundational color for the digital brand identity. This kit is comprised of key components, including an accessible color & typography system designed for high contrast, a full range of standardized UI elements (buttons, form fields, and icons) to ensure consistency, and specialized custom components such as calendar pickers and prescription cards. These elements were developed following core design principles of simplicity using clean layouts to reduce cognitive load and clarity employing a strong visual hierarchy. Furthermore, the entire kit prioritizes accessibility, making it WCAG compliant through proper color contrast, support for keyboard navigation, and the appropriate use of aria-label attributes for assistive technologies.
The final high-fidelity mockups present the polished design of the Eyecare Network website, workshops, and design iterations into a cohesive interface. They showcase finalized typography, color schemes, iconography, and interactive elements, ensuring brand consistency and accessibility.
Key user flows such as scheduling appointments, viewing prescription results, and finding a doctor are fully visualized to highlight ease of use and efficient navigation. Responsive design ensures a seamless experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
